Gueberschwihr

Discover two unique remembrance sites in Gueberschwihr, an emblematic village on the Alsace Wine Route, with its beautiful Romanesque bell tower (listed as a historic monument) and Renaissance houses:
1) in the vaulted hall (Saint-Pantaléon church): rediscovered treasures of sacred art (ornate sarcophagus, monumental altar, polychrome statues and paintings...); and, just a stone's throw away,
2) in the former nursery school (with display cases from the Musée de Louvre), a presentation of Gueberschwihr's history from its origins to the present day, through major and minor events and characters, evoked by over 300 objects (fossils, a Gallo-Roman terracotta bottle tip, a barrel lock sculpted as a mermaid-man, a diorama of a battle, a cape...), works (plans, engravings, books, watercolors...) and original archives!
